His Lordship the Bishop was on an episcopal visitation of the New Headford (Lincoln) parish on Sunday last. On Monday it was his Lordship's intention to visit the Linco'n Agricultural College and Burnham Industrial School.

A suitable site has been secured and steps arc being taken for the erection of a church, which will also serve as a Catholic school, at Woolston, a rising suburb of the city. This is a work in -which the Very Rev. VicarGener<al has taken a 'deop interest.

The annual appeal for funds in aid of the Cathedral Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to be made in the Cathedral on Sunday, September 3. The usual charity sermon will be preached at the eleven o'clock Mass, and special references will be made at the other Masses and at \espeis.

At the Cathedral on the Feast of the Assumption eleven children who are attending the Sunday school at Woolston made tiheir First Communion They were instructed by the Sisters of the Missions, -who \ery kindly accommodated them at the conxeiu during a preparatory retroat, given by the Rev. Father Mahony.

The executive committee of the Catholic Club met on last Tuesday evening, when Mr. J. R 1 Lay ward, vice-p resident, occupied the chair. The recent character entertainment realised over £10 profit, and at the reqjuest of a deportation of the Christian Doctrine Canfraternity, which waited upon the executive, it was unanimously resolved to repeat the entertainment at an early date in aid of the Sunday school pri/.e fund. Instructions were given to cable the congratulations of the club to the president, Mr. R. O. Duncan, who was recently married in Sydney.
