Though St. Mary's Cathedral (says the ' Freeman's Journal ') has uot yet reached its frnal stage of completion atid internal adornment, his Eminence has obtained sanction from Rome for its solemn consecration, which will tasKe place during the sitting of the Third Plenary Coiinc^ The generosity of a faithful people, and the un sparing industry of the clergy of the archdioccSe., and our Fair committees, ha,ve cleared off the remaining debt, and, the solemn consecration of the noble building to God will be a fitting gift from Australia to our Immaculate Paltroness, and a beautiful finale to the celebration of the jubilee of the Immacfulate Conception.- St Mary's will be the second Cathedral in Australia solemnly consecrated to divine worsihlp.
