Messrs. Nimmo and Blair report as follows :—
Wheat.— Holders of prime samples are inclined to ask prices above what local millers are prepared to give, but there is a fair inquiry for good lines at late rates! We quote : Prime milling, 3/- to 3/1 ; fowl wheat (whole), 2/8 to 2/9 per bushel (sacks extra). Oats.— A better feeling exists in the local oat market, although no advance in price can be recorded. Wo quote : Prime milling, 1/8J to 1/9 • good feed, l/ 7£ to 1/8 per bushel (sacks extra). Chaff. I—The1 — The demand is entirely for prime oaten sheaf, which is in moderate supply. We quote : Prime oaten sheaf, 55/- to 60/- per ton. Potatoes.— Owing to scarcity of supplies the market has again advanced. We quote : Prime Derwents, £&/15 to £7/6/- per ton. Butter.— ln short supply. Dairy prints, B<l ; first grade milled, 8$ to 9d ; separator in half and one-pound pats, 9d to 9£d per ft. Eggs.— ln plentiful supDly. Fresh, 1/4 to 1/5 ; preserved, 1/1 per dozen. Pigs.— Firm demand. Prime toaconers, 4d to 4£d ; porkers, 3Jd to 4d per lb. Poultry.— We have unlimited demand for birds fit tor killing on arrival. Hens, 2/6 to 3/- ; roosters, 3/to 4/- per (pair ; turkeys, liens, 6d, coctosj 8d per ft (live weight). We receive consignments of all produce for sale oa commission, which has our best attention at all 'times.
