OBITUARY
MRS. JAMES O'MALLEY, IKAMATUA.
A highly respected resident of Ikamatua, Grey Valley, in the person of Mrs. O'Malley, wife of Mr. James O'Malley, passed away on April 20, after a brief illness, the immediate cau.^e of death being heart failure. The deceased was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her, 'and her husband and family have the sincere sympathy of a large number of friends in their bereavement The deceases was a native of Waterford, where she was born in 1845. She came to the Colony and was married in 1808, and immediately aftej settled down'at Little, Grey, where she had resided until her death. In addition to her sorrowing husband there are left to mo'irn their loss two sons and four daughters. A sad coincidence was that Mr. Thomas Phelan, of Blackball, her brother, died a few hours before her. The funeral of Mrs. O'Malley and Mr. Phelan was the largest seen in the district for a long time, and was attended by mourners from Hokitika, Greymouth, and Reefton. The Rev. Fathers Ilickson and Leen officiated at the interment in the Auhura cemetery.— R.l. P.
