CONVENT OF MERCY, WELLINGTON SOUTH.
The Victoria Hall* was well filled on the two evenings when the pupils of the Sisters of Mercy, Wellington South, gialve their annual entertaiinment. The prizes were pres^nteti by Rev. Father O'Shea. Previous to the presentation the parish priest, Father Ainsworth, referred tio the splendid results attained at the annual examination— results that proved conclusively that the srtiairfdard of our sohjools was at leapt equal to that of ilhe State-supported scTiools. He would taike this public opiportjunitiy of again entering his protest against the injustice under which our schools laWoTed. There seemed at prefcent hut little hope of getting justice in this res|)ect, Hut ijn tthe meantime Catholics were determined to, m&ke siacxifices in order that their children might secure a Christian education.
