ST. JOSEPH'S PARISH SCHOOL.
There was a large attendance of parents a,nd frietods at tlhe breaking-up of St. Joseph's Parish School on December 14. The Rev. Father G'oggaji preluded, and among tine others present were the Very Rev. Dean Bmslield, t|ie Rev. Father Martin, and the Marist Brothers. A varied programme of nuiSLcal select ians, retitatiiojns, anjd dialogues was presented, in which t[he pupils acquitted themselves most creditably, special items beiing gi-veii by Misses Mooney (2), A. Dowi^y. K. Falvey, K. Morten, F. Murphy, A. Claffy, M. Goldfitnth, E. Roslhe, E. McDnary, A. Maxey, M. Mackintosh, V. Scanla/n, p.nd May McOratvh. Tlhe Rev. Father Goggan, before presenting the prives, briefly addressed the pkig>ila, winning them ©very ha,pjpiJness during their siv weeks' holidays, and ex'pressifrg the Ivope Mat they would return to school bright an«d brisk for another year's work. He wis|hed to rwntTon tihat alth/ofrigh his name appeared on tlhe prize list as t(he diofrvor of several medals, they were really nfot his personal gift is. He had receivekl them frtom a gentleman iln town who desired that his name sluoiuld not be mentioned, anil to that gentleman all honor and credit were due.
