A large audience asisembleid at St. Mary's Hall on Tdiivr^day after'ndon for tihe -distribution of prizes at St. Mary's Convent Schdols, 1/he hall being tasitefUlly deqqrated for the occasion. Ferns, ahundantly inters,pe?rse|d wibh dailnty drapery, in different designs, producqd an artistic effect. The local clergy with the Very Rev. Fatlier Murray, C.SS.R., and leading citizens, were amongst those present. A very gpad programme of mjusical items was rendered by the pupils, after ■wfliidh Racine's drama, ' Quqen Esther,' was very capably performed.
The Reiv. Father Clancy, 'on behalf of the audience, thanked tjhe pupils for the -pno-tfuctron of such a Varied and interesting programme, which was creditable to the careful tuition o{ the Sisters. He concluded his remarks by calliing on Rev. Father Maluohy tio read the list of priae winners, and asked the Very ReV. Father Murray, C.SS.R., tio distribute the same. An exhibition of Roman, Mo,u,ntmellick, and drawn thread embr,oiidery, fancy a n!d plain lace work, drawing, water aaid oil pointing, all exociuted by the pupils, tooJc place in tlie'vi'sitors' parlor, the wihole wonk reflecting great kiudios on ttfie'pjupils and teachers.
