OBITUARY
MRS. MARY McTAGGART
Am other old Canterbury resident and fervent Catholic (writes our Christchurcih corespondent) passed away on last Thursday morning, in the perspn of Mrs. Mary McTaggart, widow of the Late Mr. Ain&rew McTagjgart. The deceased was one of tihe family of Lce-Nu.nan, well known in the County Limerick, Rallinqfifrry being their native town. Witih her husband, they bemg at the time a newly-married co.uple, the deceased came oi'it to the colonies over 40 years ago, first residing at Roolvhampton, Queensland, for a few months. Widowed with a young family, a strenuous life wias the consequence, tyit with energy and iii!domita,ble pers«veraince, apparently insurmountable difficulties were overcome. The strain of many years, 'however, asserted itself lh a break down of a particularly strong const itutitan. The deceased was attended diiring her last momeintls by the Rev. Father Malioaiy, who with unremitting attention imparted all the sacred rites of Holy Cjhiurch. Extreme kindness a,nd attention were also slhiown by the Sisters of Our Lady of Missions. On Saturday Keqiuiem Mass tor the repose of the spul of deceased was celebrated in the Pro-Cathedral by the Rev. Father O'Coiuiell, Who also ofliciatied at the interme)nt in the Liinwood Cemetery.— X.l. P a
