December 9. A meeting of the executive committee of St. Patrick's Day Spprts Association was held on Saturday aught. The Mayor (Mr. J. A. Renall) occupied fne clhair a,nd there were twelve members of the executive prese/nt. It was 'decided to be represented at the meeting ol the New Zealand Association' of Caledonian Societiqs at Welli'n^ton qn December 14. A committee consisting of Messrs. M. C. O'Connell, T. Dwyer J McKiiliop, H. Uhapm.an, F. Dupie, J. Piling, and Haughey, were appointed to draw up a programme the pirue money to be not less tjha'n £100 or more .than £15|0. It was decided to hold a social on the evening of the sporty, and a sp'b-committee were appointed to carry ojut arnaingements. Mr. B. J. Dolsun and Mr. C. O'Connell were appointed to wait on tihe Bor.oug,h Council and Employees' Association witfh. a view of securing a public holiday on Marcli 17. Over 150 perstms recefved Holy Commlunilon on Sunlday last, including the mem-bers of tjie Hiberniaii Society, who wejnt in a body, artd several children of St. Patrick's School, who made their Fi-.s,t Communion. The devotion of the Forty Hours' Adoration was held, in St. Patrick's Church oil Tuesday and Wednesday last. Cyi 'l"hu:s,diay s-pecial devotions concluded the ceremotiies in commemoration of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. Large comgregati^ns were present at all the services, especially on Thursday evening, when the church was cr J ow4ed- Dean McKeawia was assisted in the ceremonies by the Rev. Fatfher Walsh, ol Upwer Hiitt.
