SMITH— DKLAHUNT
There was a large attendance at the Church of the Sacred Heart on Wednesday morning, November 23 (says the ' Kaikuura Star '). to witness the marriage of Mr. Fiancis Smith to Miss Mary Ellen Delahant, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Father Golden. Mr. 11. Chisnall escorted the bride to the altax rails. Mr John Peoples was the besit man. The bride was \eiy becomingly attired in a richly trimmed white silk robe, aii'l wore also a beautiiul veil a«nd wreath of lorancp blossoms. Misp Morley, of Ciiristxxhurch, cousin of yie bride, discharged the duties of bridesmaid. Steadman ('lnstall (maid) ami Mat tie Mullane (jpage) accompanied the bridal party. At the conclusion of the ceremony Miss Kate Harnett played Mendelssohn's 'Wedding March.' The bridegroom's present to the bride wast a bpautitwl golid bajigle, an* Ito tihe bridesmaid a c/ol'd 'a^nd greenstone: brooch. Tfae prdsentM received by the happy pair were of a very diversified character, costly and chaste, ornamental a>nd useful, totalling in the aggregate t>ver 1.00. The wedding breakfast was provided by Mr. and Mrs. Jamefe M*illane ( br:otiher-in-Law and sister respectively of the bridegroom). The Rev. Father Goldsn, who presided at the' breakfast, pro/posed the toast of the ' Bride and bridegroom The toast of the health of Mrs W. D. Smith (mother of the bridegroom) was received with, if possible, more warmth than the previous one.
