PH ELAN— LYNCH.

A very pretty wedding took place in St. Joseph's Church, Queenstown, on Ofctober 25 (writes a correspondent), the contracting parties being Mr. F. Phelan, eldest son of tihe late Mr. Phelan, of Macraes, and Miss J>ulia Lynch, eldest daughter of tdie late Mr. P. Lynch, 'of Maori Point. A Nuptial Mass was celebrated by the Key. Father O'Donnell, who also performed the marriage ceremony. The bride, who was givep away toy Mr. J. McUhestiey, was charmingly attired in a handsome gown of pale blue silk voilette over a slip of blue glace silk, elaborately, trimmed with ecru lace. She wore a handsome gold chain with greenstone heart, the

gift of the bridegroom. The bride wias attended by her sister, Miss L. Lyinc,h, who was attLrad in a pretty dress of dove-colored Panama clot.h, and wore a gold broioch, set witjh pearls, the gitt ot the bridegroom. Mr. J. Phelian, blotter of the bridegroom, acted as best man. After the ceremony the guests drove to the residence of Mr. and Mis. McChesney, Arthur's Point, where the wedding breakfast was partaken of by a large number of cjuesUs. The Rev. Father O'Donncll, who presided, in i felKcitous speech proposed the health of the bride ?nd bridegroom, both ol whom he had k,novvn from childhood. Other toasts, including that of the host and hostess, were also duly honored. With many good ■wishes for their welfare the !hatp,py couple left Qjueenstown, en route for Christcdiurch, where the honeymoon was to be spent. Mr. and Mrs. Phelan were the recipients of many useful and valuable presents, among wilneh were several cheques. In tihe afternoon Mr. and Mrs. McChesney entertained the guests, many of whom participated m a very pleasant drive to Arrowtown, and in the evening at a musical party. At the conclusion ot the festivities the guests gave hearty cheers for x\lr. and Mrs. McChesmey, who had so genero/usly entertained them.
