Vocall Music, Elocution, Drawing, and . ail other branches of a Liberal Edu cation receive due attention. Physical culture is attended to by a competent Drill Instructor who trains the students three times a week in Drill, Rifle Practice, and Gymnastics. A large and well -equipped Gymnasium ia attached to the College. The religions and moral training of the pupils ia an object of special cara, and particular attention is bestowed on tho teaching of Christian Doctrine. A well-appointed Infirmary attached to the C ollcge is under the charge of the Sisters of Compassion, from whom in case of illness all students receive the most tender and devoted care, and who at all times pay particular attention to the younger and more delicate pupils, who without such care would find the absence of home comforts very trying. It -« within easy reach of Queen street, overlooks the Waiteraata Harbor, and commands a magnificent view of the Waitakerei Ranges. Abutting the Richmond Hoad, the College lifts its stately form on a section of land 14 acres in extent. This will afford the students convenient grounds for games and recreations, and so contribute materially to their development, mental, moral, and physical. A plot of live acres is now in course of preparation for a football and cricket ground. The College is large and commodious. It is built In brick, on concrete foundations. To secure dryness, all its outer walls are cemented ; and to Kuard against fire, the inner walls are plastered and the ceilings built in steel. The dormitories are large and lofty, the class rooms well lighted and ventilated, and the baths supplied with water hot and cold. For a Boarding School, Auckland possesses unique advantages. It enjoys an immunity from extremes of heat and cold, possesses a mild and salubrious climate, and has scenic surroundings that have made it tho favorite city of New Zealand to reside in. The great object of the Brothers is to give their pupils a Sound Religious Training, to teach them to be virtuous, and to accustom them to the regular practice of their religious duties, and at the same time to Impart to them a knowledge of such subjects as will qualify them for Public Examinations, fit them for commercial and professional pursuits, and enable them to discharge the duties of their after-life with honor to religion, benefit to the State, and crprlit to themselves. Students are prepared for MATRICULATION, CIVIL SfERVICE, MEDICAL ENTRANCE, and SOLICITORS' GENERAL KNOWLEDGE Examinations. The Pension is 35 Guineas per annum.
