WOOL.
London, September 15.— The September series of the London and colonial wool sales have opened. There was brisk competition, and prices were from par to 10 per cent, above the closing sales of the last series. London, September 17.— The wool sales included the sale of the following clips : Longburn, B|d ; Listowel, ioid ; Moa Flat, Lincluden, lid. Wool is extremely animated. A large selection of crossbreds are offering. Americans are operating freely. London, September 18.— Bradford wool is more cheerful. Forties, 12£ d ; forty-sixes, 14d ; common sixties, ...jd ; super, 25d. London, September 19.— At the wool sales the clip branded Gore realised 9£d, and that branded St. Clair !^d. At the wool auction the sales were very strong in all classes, particularly crossbreds, which showed an upward tendency. The Kawarau clip realised 9|d. Messrs. Stronach, Morris, and Co. report as follows: Rabbi tskins.— At yesterday's sale th/ere was a full attendance of buyers and competition all round was keen. Best winters were a shade easier, and second winters and blacks a shade higher. We sold— Prime winter greys, mixed bucks and does, at 15£ d ; second winters, ll£d to 13|d ; autumns, llfd to 12d ; springs, 6|d to 9d ; summers, 7d to 7|d ; blacks, 12^d to 27^d. Sheejpskins,— At to-^day ? sf sale we submitted a/ fair sized catalogue to a good attendance of buyers. Prices were on the whole equal to last week, shipping lines, as usual, meeting with most demand. Merinos, best, brought 6d to 6|d ; halfbreds, best, 6£d to 7d ; crossbreds, best, sfd to 6^d. Hides —At last Tuesday's sale prices were easier, *Ithough still above those ruling at Sydney and Melbourne. We catalogued 422, and actual prices paid were as follows: Prime heavy ox hides, s£d to s£d ; medium to good ox hides, 4^d to s£d ; light and inferior do, 2£d to 4^d ; prime cow hides, 4^d to 4£d ; medium to good do, 4d to 4|d ; light and inferior, l£d to 3|d ; horse hides, Is to 6s 3d each ; yearlings, 2s to 3s Id ; calfskins, 6d to 2s 3d. Tallow and Fat.— No change to report on last week.
