(From our own correspondent ) July 26 On receipt of the news of the death of the Holy Father the bell of St. Patrick's Chuich was tolled whilst the school children recited the Holy Rosary. The flags of the principal business places were flown at half-mast. At both Masses on Sunday feeling references were made to the deceased Pontiff. At the evening devotions, to a large congregation, the Rev Father Aubry reviewed the life of the late Pope. At the half-yeaily meeting of the II A C B S the following office-bearers were elected • President, Bro. A Harris ; vice-president, Bro. J Mills ; secretary, Bro J. Sims (re-elected) ; treasurer, Bro O'Brien (re-elec-ted) ; warden, Bro. M. Healy ; guardian, Bro J Ilickey ; sick visitors, Bros. M. Hickey and M Lyons One new member was initiated.
