River Plate sheep, 3 1-1 6 d ; beef, unchanged. Wellington, June 29. — The Industries and Commerce Department have received the following cablegram from the Agent-General, dated London, 27th : — Retail business in mutton dull, but market firm at advance advised last week, and is being effected by expectation of light arrivals in future. Average price today : Canterbury mutton 3fd per 1b ; Dunedin, Southland, W.M.E. Company, 3fd ; other North Island, B*d ; River Plate, 3fd. Lamb : 'Market steady ; average price to-day for Canterbury brands, s id per lb ; brands other than Canterbury, sd. Beef : Market dull ; average price to-day : Hindquarters New Zealand beef, 4sd ; fores, 2£d. Transactions in butter continue very limited. Considerable quantities have been stored. Prices to-day : New Zealand TAitter, 94s per cwt ; Danish, 103s; Russian, 87s ; Argentine, 925. Cheese : Market quiet at 63s per cwt.
