Napier, June 4.— The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company cable a fall of id in value of North llsland mutton. The value of lamb of both qualities has advanced |d. Quotations . Canterbury mutton, 3s<l ; Napier, Wellington, and North Island, 3|d. Lamb, first quality, 4|d ; second, 4^d. London, June 5. — Rabbits. — No demand. Butter. — Very quiet. New Zealand ia irregular, at about 94s ; Danish, 96s to 98s.
Cheese — Unchanged
Wellington, June 7. — The Agent General cables under date London, June 6, as follows : — Frozen mutton : The market is weak at the same prices cabled last week. Stocks on hand are very heavy. There is a good de' mand for all lambs offering and the nwurket is rising. The average price to-day is : Canterbury brand, 4Jd ; brands other than Canterbury, 4£d. There has been no alteration in the beef market during the week. The demand for butier is limited at 95s per cwt ; cheese steady at'lilSs. Hemp is dull. The spot price for good fair Wellington gjrade is £34 a ton ; July shipments, £31 10s. The stocks of hemp to-day amount to 603 tons, against 384 tons this late last year. During the week there has been no alteration in the position of the cocksfoot market.
