APDINGTON STOCK MARKET.
At the Addington market there were fair yarding* and a good attendance of buyers. Fat Cattle.—l4s head yarded. Steers realised £6 15s to £10 7s 6d ; heifers, £5 5s to £11 7s 6d. Cows, £5 5s to £10 12s 6d. Beef ruled at from 24e to 27» per 1001 b. Fat Sheep.— The entry was smaller than has been the case recently, but included a fair, proportion of prime quality ewes and wethers. There was keen competition all round, and best ewes were fully Is dearer than last week, and wethers firm at late rates. The range of prices was : wethers, extra heavy, 18s 9d to 20s ; freezing, 16s to 38s 6d ; wethers , and maiden ewes, 13s Id to 17s lid ; ewes, freezing, 13s to 16s ; butchers, 10s to 17s lOd ; extra heavy, to 19s Id ; merino wethers, 10s 3d to 15s 6d.
Fat Lambs. — There was an average yarding, comprising several large lines suitable for export. For all good sorts there was a brisk demand at late rates. Freezers brought from 12s 4d to 14s ; tegs, to 15s ,5d ; butchers', 9s 3d to 14s 9d.
Pigs. — There was a large yarding, including a consignment of stores from the Waikato district. They were of better quality than those entered from the same locality a few weeks ago, but met with a very poor demand. Fat pigs sold better, but the market is weakening. Baconers brought from 45s to 50s, equal to from 4sd to 5d per 1b ; porkers, 30s to 38s, equal to sfd per 1b ; stores, 20s to 26s ; medium, 15s to 19s ; weaners, 8s to 13s.
