CORK.— Tenement Houses Collapse
On the morning of March 5 two tenement houses, four storeys high, suddenly collapsed on George's Quay, Cork. Two lives were lost— an old lady named Donovan, 60 years of age, and her son John. The houses were occupied by about 90 people, mostly artisans and laboring men, and their families. Had the collapse occurred earlier the loss of life would have been very great. The houses are very old four-storeyed buildings in which nine families resided.
