gT. PATRICK'S COLLEGE, WELLINGTON. CONDUCTED BY THE MARIST FATHERS Under the Distinguished Patronage of His Grace the Archbishop of Wellington. The object of the Marist Fathers in this oountry, as in their colleges m Europe and America, is to impart to their pupils a thoroughly Religious and a sound Literary eduoation, whichwill enable them in after-life to disoharge their duties with honour to Religion . Mid Society, and with oredit and advantage to themselves Students are prepared for the N.Z. University Junior and Senior Civil Service, Medical Entrance, Solicitors' General Knowedge, Bank aud all other Public Examinations. Students not preparing for the learned Professions have the advantage of a Special Commercial Course, under effioient management, where they are taught all that will be of use in mercantile pursuits. Special attention is also paid to the teaching of Physical Science, for whioh purpose the College possesses a large Laboratory and Demonstration Hall. Vocal Music, Elocution, Drawing, and all other branches of a Liberal Education receive due attention. Physioal culture is attended to by a competent Drill Instructor, who trains the students three times a week in Drill, Rifle Practioe and Gymnastics. A large and well-equipped Gymnasium is attaohoi to the College. The religious and moral training of the pupils is an object of special care, and particular attention is bestowed on the teaohine of Christian Doctrine. A well-appointed Infirmary attached to the College is nnder the charge of the Sisters of Compassion, from whom in case of illness all students receive the most tender and devoted oare, and who at all times pay particular attention to the younger and more delicate pupilß, who without such care would find the absenoe of home comforts very trying.
