WOOL.
HIDE SALES. London, April 3.—The Bradford wool market is firm. Rabbitskins.—At the auctions 1000 bales were offered and 754 sold Light summer smalls advanced Id ; other sorts declined 3d to Id. Messrs. Stronach Bros, and Morris report as follows :—: — We held our fortnightly sale of hides at our stores on Thursday, 2nd inst., when there was present a representative gathering of buyers. Our catalogue was small this week, comprising 101 hides ; and this is to be regretted, as prices were again most satisfactory, and all ofiered met with -very keen competition at values on a par with those ruling a fortnight ago. Medium-weight hides again commanded relatively the highest prices, and one line of four cows', averaging 461 b, was sold at 41d— a remarkably good return for hides of this weight. We had no j>rime heavy ox hides forward, and our top price was 6id for two averaging 651 b, while in cows' our top price was s^d for two weighing 55It>. Calfskins and yearlings' were very keenly competed for, and brought an advance on last quotations. Actual prices paid at our sale were as follows : — Medium to good ox hides, 5d to 6Jd ; lisrht and inferior do, 3gd to 4*d ; medium to good cow hides, 4|d to s^d ; light and inferior "do, 2£d to 4^d ; yearlings, 5s 8d to 6s 2d ; calfskins, 18 4d to 4s Id.
