Wellington, August 12. r— The following cable has been received from the Agent-General dated L >')don, August 11 ■ — The mutton maivut is steady. The average price r.o-uay for Canterbury mutton is .".Jd , Inmedin, Southland, and W.M.E. Ccmpany mutton, 3^d ; other North Island 3£d. The lamb market is firm. The average price to-day for New Zealand lamb is : Canterbury brand, 4£d ; other lamb, 4sd ; legs, 4*d. The beef market is quiet. New Zealand hinds, sfd ; fores, 3Jd. The hemp market is firm. ' Good fair Wellington ' grade, on the spot today, £33 10s per ton ; SeptemberNovember shipments, £31 10s per ton. There are in stock 724 ton% against 246 last year. Cocksfoot seed is quiet : New Zealand, 171 b standard, 48s.
