DIOCESE OF DUNEDIN.

On Friday evening a social and concert were given in St. Joseph's Hall in aid of the building fund <>f the hall. The Miseea S. and N. Hall opened the concert part of the programme with a faultlessly played pianoforte duet, the overture from ' William Tell.' Miss Pearson sang with much taste Harvey's ' Once,' an*! Mr Eagar gave a fine rendering of thn popular song. ' My sweetheart when a boy.' Mr Hussey sang • The Hugler,' and in response to an encore he gave ' In Old Madrid.' Mr J. B. Oallan, jnr., recited ' The Raven,' and Mr D. Columb nang ' The King's Minstrel." A cornet solo, ' The Holy City,' by Mr R. Phillips, well deserved the applause which it received. The accompaniments were played by Miss S. Hall in a fiuidLed manner.
