The funeral, which took place on Sunday, June 8, waa the largest funeral ever witnessed in Fremantle. It was largely attended by members of the United Irish League and Fremantle Catholio Institute, of which bodies he was a prominent member. No Irish national gathering here was complete without the presence of the late Mr Hayden, who was one of the most zealous and staunch Irish* men of the State. He leaves a widow and Beven children, for whom great sympathy is felt. The deceased gentleman was-a native of Ennie, County Clare, Ireland.
