O'Renly and 'he R >v. lvith-r Bro'lio. Long before tbo hour appointed for the v r.'inonv the building was taxed to its utmost holding rapacity. In the evening the church was ag in crowded, when, for the first time iv Waihi, there were Vipers. Miss Annie Lorng.in sang the ' li.flmimatus' from Rohmui'h 'Stabat Mater' h. r rich and powerful soprano voice ringing out above ihe chorus pirts wiih wonderful iel.i er effect. Miad Ciara Lorrigun's singing of 'Too Late' was a mu.-ical treat. Her rich eontrnlio voice and the devotional feeling with which she eang was very marked. The. 'O Salutnri-V by Miss C->leta Lorrigan was al->o well sung. Messrs Beach and Darby sang Rossi's 'Tantu-n Er<r o .' M,.<-s Maud Anderson ably preside! at the organ. Mons;gnor O'Reilly and Dean Hackett were prefect with Fa'her Bro.lin. The Right; Rev. Jlgr O'ReilJy pn ached the sermon. He added his contriatuktions to those of his L )rdship to the Rev. Father Brodie. Whe.i he (Monfignor O'Reilly) had first taken charge of the parish of C romandel he was summoned in haste to bap'i.io an infant not expected to live That infant was now the Rev. Father Brodie, and ho i ow looked very much alive and was doing good work. Monsignor O'Reilly then explained the manner of worbhip of Almighty God by Catholics, and the scriptural authority for the tacnlice of the Mass and the Sacrament of the Blessed Eucharist. At the conclusion of the
discourse the Rev. Father Brodie returned thanks to all who had assiated him in the good work of the parish, especially to the visiting priests, the visiting choir, and also the members of other denominations for their 00-operation and presence there that evening ihe church was beautifully decorated.
