London, February 1. — The wheat markets are generally steady but the French markets are declining and weak. Cargoes and paroels are quiet and unohanged. Butter is firm, and there is a good demand. Colonial and Danish are both unchanged, but the market is recovering. Cheese ia flat. New Zealand, 52s to 535. Wheat : The cargo ex John o' Gaunt sold at 29a 9d. London, February 2.— Frozen mutton : Crossbred wethers and maiden ewes — Canterbury, 4sd ; Dunedin, 4{jd. North Island and River Plate mutton, lamb, and beef are unchanged. Ma. F. Mkknan, King street, reports : — Wholesale prices only— Oata : Feed, fair to good, Is 4d to In 6<l ; milling, Is 6d to Is 7d. Wheat: milling, 2s 5d to 2s 6d ; fowls', la 9d to 2s Id. Potatoes : New, local, L 9 ; Auckland, • LB. Market scarce. Chaff : Good demand for prime up to L 2 15s ; inferior, hard to Bell ; medium, L 2 5. Straw : pressed 30", market bare ; loose, 30s. Flour : Sacks 2001bs, L 6 10b ; 501bs, L 7 ; 2V,bs, L 7 s*. Oatmeal : 231bs, L 9 10s. Butter: Dairy, 6d to 8d ; factory, 9jd tolOJd. Cheese: Dairy, 5d ; factory, s§d. Eggs, Is.
