THE NEW KING.
The proclamation of the King was made at St. James's Palace, on January 24. In New Zealand the public proclamation of Albert Edward as King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, under the title of Edward VII, was made shortly after noon on Monday by the Mayors and heads of local bodies.
