Dunedin Horse Saleyards.
Met-stM. Wiiglit, Stepheuaou, and Co. leport as follows :—: — There was a small entry of horses for this week's sale. Two or three good diaughi geklingM weie offered, but as they were aged, and the vendors wanted extreme prices for them, they did not change hands. First-class, young draught geldings are wanted, and will command from L 4.1 to LSO, but buyers hesitate to exceed L 35 toL4O for aged horsed. A few medium draughts also were submitted, and for these there was spirited competition, and every one of them was sold at from L 2.1 to L3O. Young spring van horses continue scarce, and we recommend consignments of this class of horses, as there are numerous buyers for them. Of hacks and harness horses there was nothing special on offer. Good, serviceable, light harness horses are in demand, and a first-class saddle horse will always command its value in this market. We quote : First-class young draught mares and geldings, at from L 45 to LSO ; good do, L3B to L 45 ; medium, L3O to L 3.1 ; aged, LlB to L 23 ; upstanding young springcarters, at from L 25 to L3O ; good do, LlB to L 23 ; light harness horses and hacks, first class, at from LlB to L 25 ; good do, Ll4 to Ll7 ; medium, L 8 to Ll2 ; aged and weedy sorts, L 2 to L 5.
