Addington Stock Market.
There were good entries of stock at Addington to-day. Fat Cattle — These numbered 215, mostly steers. The Bale commenced badly, but improved on the appearance of a southern dealer, who took several lines of steers for freezing purposes. Prices were : Steers, L 5 2s 6d to L 8 10s ; heifers, L 4 to L 8 ; cows, L 3 12s 6d to L 6 15s. Beef per 1001 b remains practically the same as last week. Dairy cattle met a slightly better demand, prices ranging from LI 7s 6d to L 6 15s. Among the lines of Btore cattle sold were some 18 months' old, mixed sexes, at L 2 2a 6d. Useful cows brought L 3 ss, and six to eight months' old mixed sexes, 19s. Fat Sheep — The entry was rather mixed in quality. Though competition was good, prices were a Bhade under last week's. Freezing sheep brought 13-» 3d to 15s ; unfinished sorts, lls 6d to 12s 8d ; best ewes, lls to 14s ; other sorts, 8s to 10s 6d : merino wethers, 8s to 10s 6d. Fat Lambs — In the fat lamb entry were several unfinished lines, and values generally showed a decline of from 6d to la. Freezing lots realised 10s 9d to 13s 6d ; other sorts, 8s 6d to 10s 6d. Store Sheep — There was a large entry of Btore sheep. Aa in the other sheep classes, the demand was good, but prices were lower than last week's. Two and four-tooths made from 12s to 13s 6d ; sound-mouthed ewes, lla to 12s 9d ; other sorts, 8 s to 10s ; lambs, 6s 2d to lls. Pigs — Pigs met with poor demand. Baconers sold at 27a to 325, or 2d per lb ; porkers, 20s to 30s, or 3d per lb ; stores, 16a to 23 ; weanere, 7a to 12s.
