DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows :—: — We had a fair entry of light horses at our sale last Saturday, but draughts were very poorly represented. Among the light horses was a consignment of brood mares and youngsters from Mr. W. G. Mosman's Waitati estate. The yearlings by Cock o' the Walk were in demand, and sold well at satisfactory prices. The mare Ulßt' r, by Sou-wester, in foal to Cock o' the Walk, was sold at L 25, and the youngsters fetched up to LI6 10s. We would strongly advise farmers to send in any spare draughts they may have at present, as the demand is keen, and the supply very bare Springcarters are also keenly soDght after., and are readily cold at good prices. The demand for light harness horses and hacks is also good, and we are disposing of large numbers every Saturday. We quote : First-class young draught mares and geldings, at from L 45 to LSO ; good do, L3B to L 45 ; medium, L3O to L 35 ; aged, LI 8 to L 23 ; upstanding young spring-carters, at from L 25 to L 80;8 0; good do, LlB to L 23 ; light harness horses and hacks, first clasß,atfrom LlB to L 25 ; good do, Ll4 to Ll7 ; medium, L 8 to Ll2 ; aged aud weedy sorts, L 2 to L 5.
