LIVE STOCK. DUNEDIN HORSE SALEYARDS.
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows :—: —
The entries for Saturday's sale comprised horßes of all classes, among which were some very nice light harness horses and springcart sorts. There was a moderate attendance of buyers, and bidding was brisk for all those showing quality and where the ages were right. Altogether quite a numbei of harness, horses changed hands at satisfactory prices. Draught horses continue to attract a large amount of attention whenever good sorts sre forthcoming. For useful farm horses, and for those suitable for heavy town work there is a splendid inquiry. Consignments of spring van horses are also wanted, and in this market would sell well. We qnote : — First-class young draught mares and geldings at from L 45 to LSO ; good do, L4O to L 45 ; medium, L 34 to L3B ; aged, L2O to L3O ; tpstanding young and sound spring carters at from L 25 to L3O ; good do, L2l to L 25; aged, Ll7 to L2O ; upstanding young carriage horses, suitable for pairs, at from L2O to L 25 ; good do, LI 7 to L2O ; medium do and hacks, LI 2 to Ll6 ; ordinary station and shepherd's hacks, LI O to LI 2 : aged but sound hacks, L 7 to L 9 ; inferior and weedy sort. 0 , L 2 to L 5.
