Messrs Weight, Stephenson, and Co. report as fol'ows for Saturday. November 27 :—: — Our usual sale commenced at 9.30 o'clock, when conpignmenta of draught and light harness horses irom Oamaru, Invercargill and other districts were offered. There wa9 a fair attendance of buyers, and for any lots showing quality and breeding competition was kt en. Unfortunately none of the draughts offered were really first-class s >rts. consequently the business done among this class was email. There were teveral buyers present for heavy young draught horses, suitable for town carrier's work, and had horses of good quality been forthcoming they would, we are sure, have found new ownerß at satisfactory prices. Among strong light harness 6orta a fair number of sales were made, there being some really good horses, suitable for 'bus and tram work, offered, and all those which changed hands found new ownersat full prices. We quote : First-class young draught mares aud geldings, £o3 to £40 ; good do, £28 to £33 ; medium draught mares and geldings, £20 to £25 ; aged do, £12 to £18 ; first-class hack and light-harness horses, £18 to £25 ; good do, £12 to £17 ; nudium do, £7 to £10 ; aged and inferior, £2 to £5. Mr. F. Meenan, King street, reports : — Wholesale price only — Oats : Quiei ; fi ed, medium to go id, Is 6d to Is 8d ; milling, 'a lOd to 2, ; fowls' wheat, 23 6d to 3s (id ; milling, 4a 3d to 4s 6d ; ihaff, L 2 12s (id to L 3 10s.
