Kilkenny.— The tenants on the Baker and Birchall estates county Ktlk, nay. are celebrating a victory over landlordism The evictions on ti.e Birchill estate commenced about six years ago, no rent being paid by any tenants. By an arrangement now concluded the evicted tenants go back at considerably reduced rents, and those who have held possession are allowed abatements of thirteen shillings in the pound. On the Baker estate the reduction granted is about fifty per cent Both estates will shortly be offered to the tenants at sixteen years purchase.
