Messbs Driver, Stewart and Co., report as follows for the week ending February 4th :—: — Fat Cattle — There was a full supply of 115' head yarded at the Ivnikorai to-day, a luge proportioa ot which were of very ordinary quality, and realised enly moderate ptices ;• a few primG pens, however, brought fully our late quotations. We sold at the yards 60 head on account of Messrs GK M. Bell, James Keid r Paterson, Bryce, Ironside, and others, at prices ranging up to £8 for bullocks and £6 for cows. Other sales were 30 head, and wo turned out 21 head unsold. We quote prime beef at 20s per 100 lbs ; middling to ordinary from 17b to' 18s. We hare placed 25 head privately for forward delivery at quotations. Fat Sheep. — 640 of various descriptions were penned and sold at — say, for cross-breds, 10s to 12s 3d ; merino wethers, 6s 6d to 7* ; do. ewe-*, 5s 6d. We sold 300 at the yards, and liave placed for forward delivery 700 merino wethers and 500 cross-breda. We quote prime crost-breds at 2\d ; do nierino at 2J, with full supply olTeiing at these pates. Fat Lambs. —Only about 60 were penned, which brought from 7s to 7t> 6tl. We sold 45 at Ihe yards, and have placed 100 privately. Store Cattle. — We have no large transactions to report iv this description of stock. We have, however, placed a few small lots — in all, 120 head. tit ore Sheep. — There is a very active demand for cros'-breds and young meiino sheep, with, however, few of either description offering. JDhcre are also buyers for really good full-mouthed merino- ewes and wetLeis at our quotations, and we have sold during the week; of various sorts, 9530 at the following prices, eay — For cro-s breds, 2'tooth, 8s to 9a ; do. 4 and 6-tooth, 9i 6 to 10i ; do. lambs, 7s Gd to 8* ; merino wethers, 3, 4 and 6-tooth, 6s to 6s 01 ; do. full-mouthed, 5b to 5s 6d ; young merino ewes, 6s 6d ; do , full mouthed, 4s to ss. Real and Leasehold Property. — For some months past we have noted an increasing desire on the part of those who have benefited by the general prosperity of the Colony, to invest in real or good leasehold properties, and we find no difficulty in disposing of all offering at ftood values, whether town sections, agricultural or pastoral blocks, or squatting leases from the Crown. Since our last we hare to report holding an important gale of real property at Invercargill, when we offeied Shand's Winton Estate, con isting of about 80 JO acres, of perhaps the finest selection in Southland. The attendance was v»ry large, and bidding animated. Of this property wo eohi 4600 acres in various lots at from £3'los to £9 5s per acre. At ♦he came time we also sold a large number of y roperties, wtuated in the towns of Invercargill, Campbelltowtt, Kiverton, and V\ inton, and suburbs — quarter-acre tectiuns in the former town realising as high as £1000, and at Cauipbelltown £700 ; suburban lands realising £30 per acre. Altogether, this sale was the uiost, successful ever held in that part of the Province —about £30,000 worth of property changing hands during the afternoon. At the Banie time we also fold about 1600 acres of growing orops on the Winton Estate, and all of Mr. Shand's farming plant, cart horses, &c., at satisfactory prices. We hare also to report the sale of Mr. Alex. M'Neil'a Balderran Es'ate — ne*t the Wa:wera — 2500 acres, for £5750, to Mr .Robert Ua worth. Also, the Fern Hill Stati >n, Luke Wakatip, to Messrs. Matheson Bros., for £6000. Also, about 100 sections in the townships of Forbury, South Du.'iedin, and Kew, at an average of £46'eaeh. Wool — 'Since the date of our last report no advices have been received frora-the home market. In this market business has b sen somewhat more active, and a considerable quantity ot woc>l has changed hauds during the past week. Our sale on Friday last was well attended, und the competition throughout was marked by gieater animation thui at any of the previous sales this i-eason. Washed clip^, especially those of well-known brands, and choice lijht greasy wools, suitable lor the American demand, commanJed fu.l prices, aid the great bulk ot these de:>criptions offered weie disposed of. Sheepskins. — At auction, on Friday, we disposed ot 1000, chi'tlj dry skins, as follows : — Cross- bieds, 5s SKI to 5s li J ; mciuos, 2s 'Zd to 4s 9.1 ; pelts, 6 i to 10J ; lauibskiu«, iOd to 16J. Hides. --None o/fcied at auction. There ia a good dem-viul boili for local r c^ireiucnts and export at about 4^, I per lb. for sound wet salted hides.
