2ZA Comes of Age
STATION 2ZA, Palmerston North, will be 21 years old on Saturday, October. 10, and celebrations will be the order of the following day when several changes in the usual Sunday programme set-up will suitably mark the station’s coming of age. Sportsview at 9.3 am. will survey the ‘fortunes of some of the major sporting activities in Manawatu during the period, then at 12,0 noon, the usual senior request session will be replaced by ‘"Twentyone Years of Requests." For, this programme listeners have been asked to nominate the record that has appealed to them most during the time they have been listening to the station. — The highlight of the day will come at 8.30 pm. when "Radio Retrospect" relives 21 years of broadcasting, This hour-long programme will recall famous voices, events and radio personalities that have featured in 2ZA’s programmes. over two decades and should appeal to all those who like to indulge in a little nostalgic reminiscing. As an added attraction to the day’s broadcasting, a number of former anrouncers have been asked to compere some of the regular Sunday programmes and thus provide a link. between Palmerston North announcers past and present.
