THE SATELLITE
Sir-I read in this week’s issue of The Listener the opinion of this one, that one and t’other one on the satellite, I should like to add my opinion. I don’t believe there is such an object as this world-cireling satellite. As several people point owt, it ig impossible to see an object 500-odd miles away, which is no bigger than I am myself. People may think they have seen it. All sorts of odd lights and minor planets could be diagnosed as "it" but not be it at all. As far the sounds, every day we hear all sorts of queer sounds-beep-beeps, boop-boops and all the rest of them. How can we help but hear, with all sorts of aircraft hopping around, with hi-fi’s, low-fi’s, and the over-the-way tadio making all the queer noises they
do?
