ASTROLOGY
I N the country of the devils we fought and we won, They are all dea’, if devils can die, All but a little one, O, such a little one, Let us save this little, so little one, said I; He antics so prettily, he can do no harm, He will be biddable while he is small, When he grows big, if he grows devilish, Why, hellward he speed him, antics and all; He laughed, he played, there was fire behind his laughter, We fondled him, we dandled him, but he was still a stranger, In our idle hours idly we toyed with him, Unmindiful, yes, unmindful of our danger; We have knowing friends, they sneer and they mock, They greet our boy devil with sly smiles, A thousand times we’ve threatened to murder him He wins us over with his impish wiles; Now in secrecy only we toy with him, Mimic his tutile, kittenish rages, Halt afraid of and half admiring
What looks like his wisdom out of the ages.
