Grubby White Fur
Dear Aunt Daisy, I am writing to you in the hope that you can solve a small problem for me. I have a pair of large white fur pompoms which have grown very grubbylooking over the months. Although I have tried several ways of cleaning them it makes no difference at all. The three ways of cleaning tried are these: Rubbing in cold bran and leaving them covered for about a week; rubbing in hot bran; and rubbing in talcum powder. These ways are the only ones I have heard of and have proved quite hopeless, so I do hope you can help me through the page in The Listener. I shall be waiting for your reply with much in-terest.-An Interested Reader, Palmerston North. / I can tell you trom my own experience with white fur that the only remedy is to give them to a good furrier to clean. They will come back looking absolutely new.
