RS LILLIAN SCOTT, well known around Palmerston North for her skill with flowers, will share her experience with listeners to the Commercial Division Women’s Hour sessions in eight talks which are being heard from 1XN and 2ZB, and which start on June 11 from 1ZB and 2XN. They will be heard later from other Commercial stations. Three particularly topical talks are for those with winter-bare gardens or no gardens at all. Mrs Scott gives practical advice on the use of driftwood and the accessories for it, and on the drying of flowers and seed-pods, and a talk about floral decoration for the flat-dweller includes a list of the longest-lasting flowers, the best to buy, and the most effective ways of using only a few blooms. Two talks are about the care of flowers and the principles of decorative arrangement, and two talks about Shows give practical advice on competition with blooms and decorative arrangements.
