THE role and the responsibility of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations in the world today, is discussed in a United Nations documentary, The New Frontier, which will be heard from YAs and 4YZ on Sunday, October 7, at 9.30 a.m. It is suggested that while opportunities for extending the geographic frontiers of civilisation are now somewhat limited, every attempt to face and overcome the obstacles to human happiness and well being is an expedition into difficult and unfamiliar territory. The narrator, the well-known film actor Edward G. Robinson (above) introduces a number of people who are qualified to outline the structure of ECOSOC, the work it has done, and the results gained. ECOSOC (it is said) can continue at the heart of the international response to the age of the atom.
