Sir,- Your article on Jonathan Roberts interested me. I thought you might like to know that I was told that the ballad was written by Tom Ure, one of the "characters" of early Timaru, He used to sell his compositions printed on cards for 1d each at the Timaru A. and P. Shows. Although I have tried, I have. never been able to obtain one of these
cards.
