CHRISTCHURCH civic Music CoUncil The Christchurch Civic Music Council offers prizes up to E25 and invites entries from New Zealand composers for compe- titions in Musical Compositions as follows: (a) Vocal: A four-part unaccompanied work: The theme to be secular; and the work not to be less than eight minutes in performance_ Though it is not obligatory, it is suggested that the words may be by a New Zealand poet (b) Instrumental: A set ot variations on a theme: The theme used need not be original_ The work not to ex- ceed 20 minutes in perform- ance The composition may be for any instrument or for any combination of instruments.
