Shock Treatment
WAS all set to write about last Saturday’s Business Women’s Session (a programme on the Home Science School Refresher Course) when I tuned in to ZB Sunday Showcase and found myself in the octopus clamp of a BBC version of The Wages of Fear. Now I feel that the Home Science programme will be much more interesting to listeners, since, as the Dean of the Faculty remarked, "there is probably not.one home in New Zealand that has not been reached by the Home Science School," Whereas there wasn’t anything special about The Wages of Fear to anybody who had seen the film or had shock therapy or been driven over the Wainui hill by a driver under the. influence (I haven't). I liked that remark by one satisfied delegate _that after the Course she felt like a car that’s gone into the garage for a rebore (continued on next page)
and comes out in top gear. . . Which reminds me of that bit in The Wages of Fear where. ... But there, I’m sure everyone who listened to The Wages of Fear will understand that I find it difficult to remember back to that Home Science Refresher Course.
