1816, twenty-four years before the official birth of Sz. , is the foundation date of one of the famous brass bands. The Black Dyke Mills Band originated in Queensbury, Yorkshire. It owed its formation to a horn player, John Foster, whose family have been the band’s patrons through the years. Since 1866 this band has won more than 150 first prizes in national and international competitions. It may be heard from 4ZB at 5.0 p.m. a Ea a At 10.15 every Saturday morning Geoff Northcote comes to 2ZA’s microphone with the weekly gardening Session.
