At any rate, when the old track from Lake Manapouri to Doubtful Sound was re-opened by a local syndicate towards the end of last year, a 4YZ staff member, G. F. Curran, accompanied the first official party to tramp over it. Hostel accommodation has been provided at Deep Cove, at the head of Doubtful Sound, and Mr. Curran took with him a tape-recorder.
