It has a distinct N.Z, atmosphere, and is set for the main part in Wellington in the latter years of last century. The Marion family, living in a house set high on the hills above Oriental Bay, are dominated by their Uncle Mortimer, and his ideas about leisurely living give the theme and atmosphere of the whole story.
