Trade names appearing in Commercial Division’ programmes are published by arrangement, Jack Smith’s devotees know him .as the singer with a smile in his voice, His relaxed, informal delivery of his tunes is one of the reasons for his success. Born in Seattle in 1915, he sang in his High School Glee Club and formed a vocal trio with two young friends. The Smith family settled in Hollywood and while Jack was. still at school he and his friends sang at the Coconut Grove. "The Ambassadors," as ‘they called pre oa followed in the footsteps of the Rhythm Boys, the trio ". which Bing Croshy once sang. Recordings by Jack Smith will be heard meer" 4ZB at 4.45.
