There are two final broadcasts from 2ZB today, "The Woman in his life," at 2.0 p.m., and "The Grey Goose," at 8.0 p.m, ES %* x Carl Fischer, pianist-composer, and long term accompanist for Frankie Laine, died in April at Los Angeles at the age of 41. Carl was a Cherokee Indian. He was in the U.S. Navy for 3 years, and on being demobbed joined Frankie Laine in 1946 as arranger-conductor-accompanist, and in 1952-53 he appeared with him during his London Palladium seasons, Today at 4.30 from 3ZB Carl Fischer accompanies Frankie Laine. * * * Station 2ZA’s "Country, Digest," at 12.34, features a recorded interview with E. C. Griffiths, newly appointed Agricultural Attache to the United Kingdom High Commissioner in N.Z.
