Put 3 grapefruit in a saucepan with a quart of water. Leave to simmer until quite soft. Lift out the whole fruit and mash them with a potato masher. Return to pan. Add 3 Ib. sugar and a lemon cut in half. Boil till will set. Remove lemon before bottling.
