NEWV ZEALAND'S FIIST IDEAL HOME EXHIBITION at NAPIEHB (17th-25th SEPTEMBER, 1954) KITCHEN DESIGN CONTEST The Napier Development Association (Inc.) , which is organising NEW ZEALAND'S FIRST IDEAL HOME EXHIBITION, is sponsoring also a CONTEST FOR THE IDEAL KITCHEN DESIGN; The contest is open to all competitors, but the Committee desires particularly to encourage housewives to submit designs for practical kitchens in low cost dwellings. PRIZES: FIRST PRIZE; E25; SECOND PRIZE, E10; THIRD PRIZE, E5; 5 Prizes of E1 each. TERMS OF THE CONTEST: 1 The kitchen should not exceed 90 sq ft , and the design should contain the usual kitchen amenities: 2 The materials specified should be readily available and preferably of New Zealand origin. 3 The Judges will award points for the best and most economical design; but additional points will be awarded for: (i) A written description of the reasons for the design and how it has eliminated unnecessary waste in materials and space. (ii) A suggested colour scheme_ CONDITIONS OF CONTEST: 1.
