Change-over at 2YA
EGULAR broadcasts from Wellington by the Alex Lindsay String Orchestra and a wider variety of programmes will result from the disbanding of the Wellington Studio Orchestra this month. The Alex Lindsay Orchestra will be linked tp occasionally with other National stations-the Wellington Studio
----- Orchestra was heard only in broadcasts from 2YA-and it, will broadcast once a fortnight. Each of the first six programmes will feature a New Zealand composition. The NZBS-has no intention of reducing expenditure as a result of this change, but will re-allocate pre-’ vious expenditure on the’ Wellington Studio Orchestra in providing improved programmes. so that .-instrumentalists will have correspondingly wider opportunities.
